Alessandro Belano, F.D.P., (Montefiascone, 19/09/1954) is a Catholic priest and member of the “Little Work of Divine Providence”, founded by Saint Luigi Orione. Having obtained the licentiate in Sacred Scripture at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, with focus on New Testament studies, Alessandro Belana served for many years as professor of Biblical Exegesis and Biblical languages at theological faculties in Tortona, Alessandria, Milan and Rome. Already a member of the Italian Biblical Association (ABI), in 1992 he was also nominated Official of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and Secretary to the Pontifical Biblical Commission. As external collaborator of the periodical Don Orione Oggi, he is the author of a wide range of articles and essays on biblical, theological and spiritual topics.
