From June 2013 there is an appointment particularly eagerly awaited by those who participate in the Macerata-Loreto Walking Pilgrimage: it is the telephone call of Pope Francis who, with his simple "good evening", begins a short but intense dialogue with those present. Also in this year 2020 in which, due to the pandemic, the Pilgrimage took place in virtual form in Loreto, the Holy Father did not want to miss his appointment underlining the need to witness to all the hope and courage of faith. The book aims to tell, through the words of the protagonists, the story of this story of 'friendship' between a father and his children. The text collects the Pope's telephone conversations and many of the messages subsequently sent by pilgrims to the Macerata-Loreto Pilgrimage Committee. The testimony that emerges is of a paternity that is not only support for the night journey, but is a comfort for the path of life of which the pilgrimage is paradigm. Because: "All life is a pilgrimage," recalled the Pope several times.
