Uelci events at the Turin Book Fair

The Unione editori e librai cattolici italiani (Union of Italian Catholic Publishers and Booksellers), the acronym that brings together some one hundred Catholic publishers and booksellers, including Libreria Editrice Vaticana, and the Turin diocese will be presenting a rich programme of events at the Salone. Starting from some anniversaries of significant Catholic figures of the 20th century: St. Therese of Lisieux (150th anniversary of her birth) will be discussed by the writer Carola Susani and the Archbishop of Turin Roberto Repole; Don Tonino Bello (30th anniversary of his death) will be discussed by Michele Santoro and Father Alex Zanotelli; the 100th anniversary of the birth of Don Lorenzo Milani will be the occasion for a dialogue between Rosy Bindi and Tomaso Montanari. The 100th anniversary of the assassination of Don Giovanni Minzoni will see Alberto Melloni and Emma Fattorini investigate the legacy of this social priest killed by fascist squads; the 30th anniversary of the Mafia assassination of Blessed Pino Puglisi will be commemorated by Giuseppe Pignatone and the Archbishop of Palermo Corrado Lorefice.

The programme of events, curated by Libreria Editrice Vaticana's editorial manager Lorenzo Fazzini, is promoted with the media partnership of the daily newspaper Avvenire.
