LEV events at the Turin Book Fair

Libreria Editrice Vaticana will be present at the International Book Fair in Turin with a large stand (Pavilion Oval, stand U150), several new publications and various meetings with the authors of the new books.
First of all, the new book by Pope Francis "Giù le mani dall'Africa!" (Hands off Africa!) will be presented in its Italian "premiere". This text collects all the speeches by the pontiff during his recent apostolic trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan, enriched by the testimonies of the people who spoke in front of the Pope, telling of heinous violence, gestures of forgiveness, choices of courage and hope in the Continent. The text is enriched by the preface by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, an internationally renowned Nigerian writer. The book will be presented on Monday 22 May at 8.45 pm by Father Alex Zanotelli, Comboni missionary, together with Matteo Spicuglia, RAI journalist, in the Libreria Gulliver (Via Boston 30/b) as part of the Salone Off.
Another novelty is the dialogue between Carlo Petrini, founder of Slow Food, and Gaël Giraud, economist, theologian and mathematician, professor at Georgetown University in Washtington, entitled Il gusto di cambiare (The taste for change), dedicated to ecological transition, co-edited by Libreria Editrice Vaticana and Slow Food Editore, with a preface by Pope Francis. The book, the result of a dialogue led by Stefano Arduini, editor of Vita magazine, will be presented on Friday 19 May at 5.15 pm at the Caffè Letterario (Oval Pavilion) in the presence of the authors and moderated by Massimo Giannini, editor of La Stampa. Giraud himself will be the protagonist of two other meetings concerning his book La rivoluzione dolce della transizione ecologica (LEV) (The gentle revolution of the ecological transition): on Saturday 20 May at 6 p.m. in the Libreria Gulliver he will talk with Marco Piccolo, entrepreneur, and Francesco Antonioli, editor of Mondo Economico; on Monday 22 May at 6 p.m. (Sala Bianca) he will talk with the missionary Alex Zanotelli and LEV's editorial manager Lorenzo Fazzini.
The figure and thought of Benedict XVI will also be the subject of a high-profile meeting at the Show: 'God is always a light and a mystery: the legacy of Benedict XVI' is the title of the speech by Father Federico Lombardi, president of the Joseph Ratzinger Foundation, former director of the Holy See Press Office during Benedict XVI's pontificate, scheduled for Friday 19 May at 3.00 p.m. (sala Blu). The meeting will be moderated by Domenico Agasso, Press Vaticanist.
"Also in this edition of the Salone, LEV is present with editorial proposals and meetings with authors under the banner of an in-depth study of the Magisterium of Pope Francis," explains Lorenzo Fazzini, publishing manager of Libreria Editrice Vaticana. "The new text "Giù le mani dall'Africa!" (Hands off Africa!) becomes a propitious occasion to take up again the speeches of the pontiff in his trip to Congo and South Sudan, a trip that was a great testimony of closeness and prophecy in today's Africa.
