This volume collects the Agreements in force between the Holy See and the civil systems of the African continent, countries that are rapidly evolving after the period of independence in the 1960s. The process of democratisation and the now majority republican forms on the continent have opened up bilateral dialogue at the international level with the Catholic Church as an authentic 'Agency of Humanity' recognised throughout the world and proven by the numerous agreements and concordats in force on every continent. This phenomenon, coupled with the multi-denominational dialogue and the dialogue with other confessions not only testifies to the vitality of the Church but also gives hope, notwithstanding the numerous local gurre in action, for a future of authentic cooperation if the younger generations are educated and not only instructed in the fundamental values of humanity's coexistence in a healthy cooperation according to the profound etymological sense of cum-cor-dare.
