Over the course of the centuries the Church has felt strongly that service to the sick is an “integral part of its mission”, combining the “preaching of the Good News with the help and care of the sick”. The text of the New Charter for health care workershas been revised and updated, maintaining its original structure, yet focusing on the vocation of wealth care workers as ministers of life. Along with the progress in medical sciences and their potential consequences in human life, issues concerning the medical and legal world and social and sanitary world are tackled.
