The text of the Good Friday "Via Crucis" to be officiated by Pope Francis in St Peter's Square on 2 April 2021 is now in the bookshops. This year's protagonists are the youngest children, girls and boys, of the Roman parish of Santi Martiri dell'Uganda, the Agesci scout group "Foligno I", the guests of two family homes in Rome and the authors of the drawings commenting on the 14 stations.
The meditations, in their simplicity and concreteness touch the heart. They show how the sufferings of the little ones are often belittled and how many of them need someone to comfort them. The reflections collected in the text of this year's "Via Crucis", even though written by the little ones, are of great depth. They recall the very important role of the family, shed light on the emotional and affective sphere of young and old, and remind us of the important role of parents and the great value of grandparents in the life and education of each of us.
