LA CHIESA E' VANGELO

Alle sorgenti della teologia di papa Francesco, Piero Coda examines the origins of the Pontiff’s thought and message. Thus, starting from the analysis of the two key figures of his theological and ecclesial formation, Ignatius of Loyola and Saint Francis of Assisi, true interpreters of Jesus’ Gospel in the mission of the Church, the author  lingers over the illustrated theological tradition of those witnesses whom he considers tangible in the formation of pope Francis (such as Saint Thomas Aquinas, Saint Augustine of Hippo, Basil the Great, Saint Bonaventure, Paul VI). The main thread of the reflection here proposed is the analysis of the theological lines of the Holy Father’s teaching in order to highlight how these sources are fundamentals in his commitment to express the Gospel in the dialogue with the historical situations and the epochal challenges of our time.
