CHE COS'È STATO IL 1968? UNA LETTURA 50 ANNI DOPO

Edgar Morin wrote: May '68 was "an ecstasy of history, that is, one of these moments [...] where everyday oppression is suspended, and it was like rejoicing a little". In short, a complex ensemble of existential claim close to what has been called the "American counter-culture", and of militant Marxist movement, with, first, the Maoist wave, which despite the variations and the countless nuances, constitute the religion of earthly salvation. It is a fact: the mentality, the culture, the society have changed. Even if the followers of May '68 are now only a memory, however, the alteration of the traditional order and the existential turmoil of individuals, who undermined the institutional and moral structure of the family, are its direct heirs. The same can be said of the affirmation of the "I" and the proliferation of ideas in the cultural field, which have influenced the arts up to now and have developed a "culture of contestation", or better "a counter-culture". This volume examines, from various points of view and in a multidisciplinary perspective, the complex components of events that have profoundly changed our societies.
