UNA CHIESA CHE VUOLE INCONTRARE L'UOMO

Per una pastorale alla luce dell'Evangelii gaudium

Prefazione di Edoardo Scognamiglio

The book "reads" the pastoral life of the Church in the light of Evangelii gaudium through an itinerary marked by a pastoral experience that is renewed thanks to the awareness of being Church. A Church that wants to be with the people in order to accompany them, aware that encounter and dialogue can help to come closer to God and to our brothers and sisters in the world. The ecclesial dimension allows us to grasp the decisive encounter between God and human beings as a generative experience of a faithful people on a journey. At stake are fraternal relationships that go far beyond simple group dynamics and that, through a pastoral ministry of encounter and dialogue, take on the solitudes and wounds of people today. Special attention is given to interreligious dialogue and its relationship with pastoral practice. Finally, the experience of Francis of Assisi is presented as a transparency of the Church; in particular, the encounter of saint Francis with the Sultan of Egypt, which is almost a prophecy for the pastoral choices of Pope Francis, aimed at undertaking a journey marked by a change of mentality, in order to build a universal brotherhood that finds its foundation in the faith in God the Father.
