This book contains the reflections given during the “Training course for new Bishops”. This occasion, desired and organised yearly by the Congregation for Bishops, is an important moment for understanding the meaning of their new mission and of the criteria with which the Pope and the Church ask such understanding to be exercised in the current historical background.
After the sessions of the last two years - the first one Testimoni del Risorto marked by the ecclesial experience of the last two synods on family, and the other one on the theme Apostoli di Misericordia which took place in the jubilee year of Mercy - this year the “Training Course” was held in the context of the journey of preparation for the XV Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, which will take place on October 2018 on the topic Young people, the faith and vocational discernment. « For this reason, the reflection of the new Prelates – as cardinal Marc Oullet affirms in the Introduction to the volume – focuses on how the call to the episcopacy involves for them a listening role in order to guide the ecclesial discernment towards the new generations but also in the context of their local communities and the whole Church».
