►It is a collection of studies edited byProf. Philippe Chenaux and Kiril Plamen Kartaloff and aimed at being an instrument for the historiographical reflection on the II Vatican Council. As Bernard Ardura, President of the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences, reminds us in the preface, the volume is «the result of the census project of the archives of the Fathers of the Second Ecumenical Vatican Council started by the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences in 2002 with an International Symposium in collaboration with the Centre for the Investigation and Study of the Second Vatican Council of the Pontifical Lateran University» and in 2015, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the end of the Council through a second International Congress announced with the aim of tracing some of the most significant personalities among the bishops participating.
