Homily on the forgiven sinner
The Gospel story in which a woman washes the feet of Jesus with tears and dries them with her hats has made a great deal of money in the environment of ancient preaching in the Syriac language. Many fathers preached on the Lucanian passage (Luke 7), often mixing the elements taken from the other evangelists. In this small volume we present the homily by James of Sarug (V-VI century), Father of the Church who in Syria, on this theme. Tears, forgiveness, temptations - in their exposition we find a bit of everything. Even perfumes, because where there is love, perfumes are renewed.
