San Joseph Vaz

Cardinal Angelo Amato in this volume traces the biography of St. Joseph Vaz. Famous for his heroic life and his fundamental role in the evangelization of local populations, he was canonized by Pope Francis on January 14, 2015. Joseph Vaz was born in Goa, India, in 1651 and his life was a true epic of sacrifice and missio ad gentes. The book, in addition to providing a biography of the Saint, examines his work of evangelization aimed at all social classes and the five characteristics of his holiness: Marian devotion, life of prayer and Eucharistic adoration, charity towards all, option for the poor and his reputation for miracles still alive.
