Gianni Cardinale was born in 1961 in Giulianova, Abruzzo, and grew up in Rome. He studied at the Salesian Scientific High School of Villa Sora in Frascati and he completed a PhD in Medieval History at “La Sapienza” Faculty . In 1988, upon invitation of Father Giacomo Tantardini, he started working for the international monthly publication 30Giorni nella Chiesa e nel mondo directed by Senator Giulio Andreotti since 1993. Since May 2009 he has been vaticanist and special reporter of Avvenire daily newspaper.
