At the last Synod of Bishops in October 2012, focused on the new evangelization, there were about forty interventions on the theme of holiness and how saints are fundamental protagonists for the new evangelization. The present volume, the latest work of Bishop Amato on the concept of holiness, offers a further contribution that documents the indispensable evangelizing nature of the saints, who thanks to their exemplary Christian conduct, nourished by faith, hope and charity, become points of reference for the Catholic Church and the faithful throughout the world and all cultures, directing them towards a life of holiness. In particular, the volume, like the previous three, is divided into two parts: the first part contains doctrinal reflections on the concept of holiness and the causes of saints, the second part collects homilies, letters and reports, held throughout 2012, which describe the life and work of Saints, Blessed, Venerable and Servants of God.
