This volume, of small format, offers a short biography of St. Hildegard of Bingen, one of the most important female figures of the Middle Ages, who distinguished herself for her exemplary Christian conduct, thus becoming a model of holiness for the Catholic Church. In particular Card. Amato, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, first dwells on the exemplary conduct of the Saint's life and the attempts at canonization, and then examines the doctrine that emerges from her writings, proposing an analysis that demonstrates its current validity. Finally, the catechesis of Benedict XVI dedicated to the Saint, pronounced on September 1 and 8, 2012, are reported. A nimble volume addressed to all the faithful with the intention of spreading models of life to follow.
