LE SETTE PAROLE DI CRISTO SULLA CROCE

The seven words pronounced by Christ on the Cross are the last seven sentences which the Lord pronounced on the Cross: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do”(cfr. Lk 23:34), “Today you will be with me in Paradise ”(cfr. Lk 23:43), “Woman, behold, your son… your mother” (cfr.  Jn 19: 26-27), “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (cfr. Mt 27:46), “It is finished” (cfr. Jn 19:30), “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit” (cfr. Lk 23:46). These sentences are not taken only from a Gospel but they can be found in each of the four Gospels; these sentences reveal the meaning of our life and our death, as well as of the life and death of all God’s creatures, and of the destiny of the whole human history and of creation itself.
