Apostolic Letter on the Sixteen Hundredth Anniversary of the Death of Saint Jerome
Pope Francis on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of the death of St. Jerome, the translator of the Bible into Latin - called Vulgate because it was directed to ordinary people, who did not know Greek and Hebrew - gave us an apostolic letter on the value of Sacred Scripture for the life of all believers in Christ. The document is introduced by an essay by Cardinal Gianfraco Ravasi, who is a great expert on Sacred Scriptures.
