IN CAMMINO VERSO L’UNITÀ 60° ANNIVERSARIO DEL PONTIFICIO CONSIGLIO PER LA PROMOZIONE DELL’UNITÀ DEI CRISTIANI

With this volume, the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity (PCPUC) intends to celebrate the 60th anniversary of its establishment. In order to offer an overview of what has been achieved during this time in the relations between the Catholic Church and other Churches and Ecclesial Communities, in particular in the theological dialogue, the volume gathers several articles, published in L'Osservatore Romano during the month of June 2020. These contributions are complemented by other documents relating to the birth and history of the Pontifical Council. "This overview", as Cardinal Kurt Koch, President of the PCPUC, writes in the preface, "makes it possible to realize the steps taken in these few decades to heal secular and millenary wounds. In these sixty years, a truer knowledge and greater esteem have been gained among the different Christian communions, we have grown in the dialogue of charity and truth, as well as in various forms of collaboration in what can be called the dialogue of life."
