Preparatory Document
The text of the Preparatory Document and the Vademecum to guide the path of the Synod on Synodality which will be opened on 9-10 October in Rome and on 17 in the Particular Churches and will conclude in the Vatican in 2023.
"The Document is intended above all to be a tool to encourage the first phase of listening and consultation of the People of God in the particular Churches, which will begin in October 2021 and end in April 2022: "A sort of construction site or pilot experience". While the Vademecum is conceived as "a manual" offering "practical support" to diocesan referents to prepare and gather the People of God. It includes liturgical and biblical sources and online prayers, as well as examples of recent synodal exercises and a glossary of terms for the synodal process. "Not a rule book", it specifies, but "a guide to support the efforts of each local Church", taking into account cultures and contexts, resources and constraints (from Vatican News)".
