This volume is a beautiful text on Christian prayer, read and lived based on the sure foundation of the Word. The author, a presbyter of the Salerno-Campagna-Acerno diocese, is a scholar of the Bible and a professor of Sacred Scripture since 1989. In this text, he synthesizes a journey of faith and prayer that he has offered several times, especially to priests and religious; however, the book is addressed to anyone among God's people who is interested in addressing the theme of prayer, starting from a careful study of Scripture. The starting point of the book is the analysis of Jesus' prayer, made in the light of the texts of Luke's Gospel. Particularly interesting is the proposal of a Christian reading of the Old Testament that arrives at the Psalms always starting from the figure of Jesus and from a strong reflection on his prayer, carefully read starting from the Gospel texts.
