Charity is a new commandment, the fullness of law, the foundation of other virtues. It encourages and inspires the baptised people, above all saints and martyrs. Saints are an instrument of charity and charity is that source from which to draw in order to overcome distress and to live in joy. This volume, divided into two parts, contains Cardinal Amato’s meditations on charity and a gallery of men and women (Saints, Blessed, Venerables and Sservants of God) who are considered examples of the heroic practice of this divine energy which is charity.
