On Sunday 1st vPope Francis at the Angelus recalled the new blessed, Father Michael McGivney, the priest who founded the Catholic association "Sons of Columbus" in the United States and later changed its name to "Knights of Columbus". Father Michael is remembered for his commitment to evangelization and for his efforts to provide for the needs of the needy, promoting mutual aid. In 2014 the Libreria Editrice Vaticana published a volume dedicated to him entitled "Il Parroco. Padre Michael McGivney e il Cattolicesimo Americano". The authors, Douglas Brinkley and Julie M. Fenster, retrace the life of Blessed Father Michael, founder of the "Knights of Columbus" (Knights of Columbus), and propose the chronicle of his canonization process, which reached the stage of beatification last Saturday, 31 October 2020.
