IL DIACONATO NEL PENSIERO DI PAPA FRANCESCO

The volume collects the interventions on the diaconate pronounced by Pope Francis during his episcopal ministry in Buenos Aires and the more recent ones as Bishop of Rome. In the preface to the volume the Holy Father  reminds us the reason why the diaconate is important and highlights how interesting and necessary is today to analyze in depth its development.« The Church – the Pontiff argues – finds in the permanent diaconate the expression and at the same time the impetus to make itself a visible sign of the diaconia of Christ Servant in the history of men». The diaconia of the Church in its whole – the Pontiff reaffirms - «has its beating heart in the Eucharistical Ministry and it is realised in the service to the poor who bare Christ’s suffering face».
