►The essays collected in this book trace the unpublished events regarding many buildings in via della Conciliazione: from those which characterise the extremities towards Rome with their façades overlooking Piazza Pia up to the Propilei which open up onto Saint Peter Square. The report unfolds through the contribution of various voices characterised by several disciplinary contributions, enlightening historical and technical aspects of the past until today: the opportunity to examine in depth this topic is due to the recent restoration work which the Administration of the Patrimony of the Holy See has made on these buildings. The opportunity to retrace this event and to explain it from various perspectives, highlights how the importance of these buildings is not merely related to their specific monumental nature or architectural value, but rather on their role as significant urban elements linked together by a common character rooted in an ancient history of which they are an everlasting memory.
