Jürgen Werbick was born in 1946. He studied Philosophy and Theology in Mainz, Munich and Zurich. He was pastoral assistant at the archdiocese of Munich and Freising and scientific Assistant at the Faculty of Catholic Theology of the university Ludwig-Maximilian in Munich. He taught systematic Theology at the University of Siegen and Fundamental Theology in Münster. For more than thirty years he has been a member of the editorial staff of Der Prediger und Katechet, the oldest magazine of Homiletics in Germany. He is married and has three daughters.
