A promising rite for other cultures
Preface by Pope Francis
A tool to learn more about the different aspects of the Roman Missal for the Dioceses of Zaire. Approved by the Congregation for Divine Worship on April 30, 1988, it is so far the only inculturated rite of the Latin Church issued after the Second Vatican Council. The Zairean rite of the Roman Missal is considered as an example of liturgical inculturation and a promising way also for the eventual elaboration of an Amazonian rite, in that the cultural needs of a certain area of the African context are received, without distorting the nature of the Roman Missal, as a guarantee of continuity with the ancient and universal tradition of the Church. It contains the contributions signed by: Maurizio Gronchi; Jean-Pierre Sieme Lasoul; Oliver Ndondo; Rita Mboshu Kongo; Silvina Perez. The preface is signed by Pope Francis and in the appendix there are the Ritual of the Mass celebrated by the Holy Father Francis on December 1, 2019 and some pictures of the celebration.
